Lume Lighting helps commercial and industrial facilities identify and capture available utility incentives for qualifying lighting upgrades and lighting controls.
As an approved PPL Electric Direct Discount provider, Lume can help eligible customers apply qualifying incentives directly to project costs—reducing the amount the customer has to fund.
PPL Direct Discount • Act 129 • LED Lighting • Lighting Controls • Commercial & Industrial
For eligible PPL Electric customers, Direct Discount can significantly reduce the upfront cost of qualifying energy-efficiency improvements.
Lume evaluates the existing lighting system, identifies qualifying opportunities, develops the project, and incorporates available incentives into the project economics.

If your business is a qualifying PPL Electric GS1 or GS3 customer, eligible lighting and energy-efficiency improvements may receive incentives covering up to 80% of qualifying project costs through the Direct Discount Program.
As an approved PPL Direct Discount contractor, Lume handles the incentive process as part of the project.
1. We Check Eligibility
Lume reviews your PPL rate class and existing lighting to determine whether the facility and proposed improvements may qualify.
2. We Assess the Lighting
We document the existing system and identify qualifying LED, controls, and other lighting-efficiency opportunities.
3. We Calculate the Incentive
The energy savings and eligible project costs are used to determine the available Direct Discount. The project is submitted through the program as required.
4. You See Your Cost Before Moving Forward
The lighting scope, estimated incentive, and your resulting project investment can be presented together—so you can evaluate the economics before installation.
5. Lume Completes the Approved Project
Once the project proceeds, the approved energy-efficiency improvements are installed and documented.
6. The Discount Goes on Your Invoice
You don't wait for a rebate check. The Direct Discount incentive is paid to the participating contractor and applied as a credit to your final invoice, reducing your out-of-pocket project cost.
Pennsylvania's Act 129 requires the state's major electric distribution companies to operate energy-efficiency and conservation programs. PPL notes that the costs of these programs are recovered through customer electric rates.
If your business qualifies, it makes sense to find out what incentives are available before replacing lighting on your own.
Eligible GS1 & GS3 Customers
Up to 80% of Qualifying Project Cost
Lume Handles the Incentive Process
Discount Applied to Your Final Invoice
Direct Discount eligibility, incentive amounts, project requirements and available funding are determined by the PPL Electric Business Energy Efficiency Program and are subject to change.
Utility incentives can make improvements practical that otherwise might be deferred.
That can include:
LED Lighting Upgrades
Reduce connected load, energy use, and maintenance requirements.
Lighting Controls & LLLC
Reduce unnecessary operating hours and improve how the lighting system responds to actual facility use.
Combined Lighting + Controls Projects
Evaluate the system as a whole rather than automatically replacing fixtures one-for-one.
